Texas is cementing its position as a national hub for advanced technology and industrial expansion, following new multi-billion-dollar commitments from Google, AST SpaceMobile, and Cancoil USA. Collectively, these projects span AI infrastructure, satellite manufacturing, and industrial production—reinforcing the state’s growing economic influence across multiple sectors.

Tech & Satellite Manufacturing Surge
AST SpaceMobile is expanding its U.S. footprint with two new manufacturing sites—one recently launched in Midland, Texas, and another in Homestead, Florida. The company now operates five facilities in Texas and employs more than 1,800 people nationwide, most of them in West Texas. The expansion will accelerate production of AST’s next-generation BlueBird satellites while strengthening domestic supply chains.
“Our roots are firmly in Texas, and always will be,” said Abel Avellan, Founder, Chairman and CEO of AST SpaceMobile. “This expansion allows us to increase capacity, strengthen our supply chain, and bring even more high-technology manufacturing work back to the United States.”
Google also announced a record $40 billion investment to build out cloud and AI infrastructure across Texas—the largest investment the company has made in any U.S. state. The initiative includes three new data center campuses, workforce training programs, and energy affordability partnerships aimed at supporting long-term regional growth.
Advanced Manufacturing Expands in East Texas
Cancoil USA will build a new manufacturing operations center in Jacksonville, creating 120 jobs and generating over $28 million in capital investment. Supported by a Texas Enterprise Fund grant and a Veteran Created Job Bonus, the facility will expand production of commercial and industrial heat-transfer systems. Local officials cited the region’s skilled workforce and business climate as key advantages.
A Statewide Momentum Shift
From AI and cloud infrastructure to satellites and industrial systems, these investments highlight Texas’ rising role in the future of technology and manufacturing. Companies across multiple sectors are expanding operations, strengthening supply chains, and anchoring long-term growth in communities across the state, signaling sustained momentum for Texas as a national innovation and production leader.
