Eos Energy Enterprises is expanding its footprint in Pennsylvania with a new manufacturing and software hub under “Project AMAZE,” reinforcing the company’s commitment to U.S.-based clean energy innovation and workforce development.
The $24 million expansion includes a 432,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Marshall Township that will complement Eos’ existing Turtle Creek plant. Once fully operational, the company expects to scale up to 8 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of annualized energy storage capacity—supporting or creating more than 1,000 jobs across the region.
“Energy storage is the backbone of a modern energy system,” said Eos CEO Joe Mastrangelo. “Through Project AMAZE, we’re proving that you can make things in America again—building world-class capacity and pairing advanced manufacturing with innovative software right here in Pennsylvania.”

Governor Josh Shapiro praised the investment as a milestone for Pennsylvania’s clean energy economy. “We’re cutting red tape, building a skilled workforce, and investing in next-generation energy technology,” he said. “Eos’ decision to expand here shows that Pennsylvania is ready to lead in the energy transition.”
Beyond manufacturing, Eos will open a software hub at Pittsburgh’s Nova Place, the city’s leading innovation district. The site will support development of DawnOS, the company’s proprietary battery management platform, along with system analytics and optimization tools.
Eos is also expanding collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University to drive research in AI, robotics, and advanced engineering. “This milestone strengthens Western Pennsylvania’s role as an innovation engine for the nation,” said CMU President Farnam Jahanian.
Eos’ zinc-based Znyth batteries provide a safe, scalable alternative to lithium-ion systems, positioning Pennsylvania at the center of America’s energy storage transformation.
