LEDCO secures 1,165 acres for economic development

The Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO) Board of Directors has approved the acquisition of 1,165 acres of land in Longview’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, aiming to support the city’s long-term economic growth and industry recruitment. The decision, made on February 14, 2025, addresses the growing demand for industrial space driven by recent economic development trends.

“Having a product of this magnitude will ensure Longview’s and the region’s growth for years to come,” said Wayne Mansfield, CEO and President of LEDCO. “We are excited to present this incredible opportunity to companies and site selectors, and we are excited for the opportunities this will bring to Longview.”

The newly acquired land is set to become the Bar-K Business Park, strategically located with direct frontage to US HWY 80. Development for the business park is expected to commence in late 2025, positioning Longview as a prime destination for industrial growth and job creation.

Julie Woods, Chairman of the Board for LEDCO, emphasized the impact of the new business park: “Each week, we miss opportunities for businesses eager to invest in our city simply because we lack the space to accommodate them. This new business park changes that reality. It positions Longview as a prime destination for industry and job creation, ensuring economic growth and prosperity for generations to come.”

The land acquisition marks a strategic move by LEDCO to strengthen Longview’s economic landscape and meet the increasing demand for industrial development space.
