Salesforce has unveiled a $15 billion investment plan over the next five years to strengthen San Francisco’s position as a global leader in artificial intelligence. Announced ahead of the company’s annual Dreamforce conference, the initiative represents one of the largest private sector commitments to building an AI ecosystem in the city.
The funding will establish a new AI Incubator Hub at Salesforce’s downtown headquarters, designed to accelerate startup growth and advance AI-driven enterprise solutions. It will also fund workforce development programs, training initiatives, and the company’s vision for “Agentic Enterprises”—businesses where employees collaborate with AI agents to automate repetitive tasks and focus on creativity, strategy, and innovation.
“This $15 billion investment reflects our deep commitment to our hometown—advancing AI innovation, creating jobs, and helping companies and our communities thrive in this incredible new era,” said Marc Benioff, Salesforce chair and CEO.

The announcement comes as San Francisco works to revitalize its reputation as a center of global innovation following years of economic and public safety challenges. Salesforce’s investment is expected to attract top AI talent, strengthen startup activity, and reaffirm confidence in the city’s tech-driven economy. “The incubator hub will give start-ups a hand in their development and the creation of new AI applications,” Salesforce said in a statement.
The timing coincides with Dreamforce 2025, the world’s largest AI-focused conference, held from October 14–16. The event is expected to draw 50,000 in-person attendees and millions online, highlighting the collaboration between human ingenuity and AI technology.
“As we welcome thousands to Dreamforce, we’re investing in the future of San Francisco and leading the next great technology transformation—where humans and AI work together to drive productivity, growth, and meaningful change,” Benioff said.
The initiative follows Benioff’s recent $1 million donation to support police recruitment in San Francisco, reinforcing Salesforce’s dual focus on civic stability and technological advancement. Together, these efforts position the company as both a driver of innovation and a key partner in the city’s economic renewal.
