GTI Energy, a division of Buffalo-based GTI Fabrication, is making a significant investment in Arizona’s clean energy sector with a $53 million expansion in Goodyear. The company is establishing a 530,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility at Lakin Park, aiming to meet the growing demand in renewable energy and data center markets.
The new facility is expected to create 250 jobs initially, with plans to increase to 600 positions by 2026. It will serve as GTI’s primary high-volume manufacturing site, handling the full production lifecycle—from raw steel processing and welding to electrical integration, battery installation, and end-of-line testing. This expansion complements GTI’s existing Phoenix facility, which focuses on energy storage system fabrication and prototype development.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the City of Goodyear to expand our operations and further our mission of advancing our domestic manufacturing footprint,” said Bill Jacobbi, Managing Partner of GTI Energy. “This facility represents a major milestone for GTI as we scale up to meet the growing needs of our customers in the renewable and critical infrastructure spaces.”
Local and state officials have welcomed GTI’s investment, highlighting its alignment with Arizona’s economic development goals. Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, stated, “GTI Energy’s expansion showcases Arizona’s emergence as the nation’s premier destination for advanced manufacturing.”

Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, added, “GTI Energy is going to play a transformative role in the maturation of Goodyear’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem.”
GTI Energy’s expansion underscores Arizona’s growing role as a hub for clean energy innovation and advanced manufacturing. With the new facility nearing completion, the company is actively hiring for a range of skilled positions. This strategic move by GTI Energy not only strengthens its manufacturing capabilities but also contributes to Arizona’s economic growth and commitment to sustainable technologies.
