ALUKO Group selects Tennessee for second U.S. manufacturing facility

ALUKO Group has announced plans to establish its second U.S. manufacturing facility in Halls, Tennessee, committing $107.7 million to expand integrated aluminum manufacturing operations in Lauderdale County. The project is expected to create 285 new jobs and repurpose the former Tupperware facility, strengthening the region’s advanced manufacturing base. The South Korea–based aluminum manufacturer will use the Halls site to support customers across the electric vehicle, solar energy, construction, and building sectors. Once operational, the facility will complement ALUKO Group’s first U.S. plant in Jackson, Tennessee, announced in December 2024, marking the company’s second Tennessee investment in less than a year. “This strategic investment in Halls, Tennessee, is a significant milestone in ALUKO Group’s long-term North American strategy,” said Do Bong Park, chairman of ALUKO Group. He noted that the project will help establish an eco-friendly supply chain for key U.S. industries while creating hundreds of jobs for the region. State officials highlighted the announcement as part of a broader trend in foreign direct investment. Since Governor Bill Lee took office, South Korea has become Tennessee’s top international investment partner, contributing more than $13 billion in capital investment statewide. Governor Bill Lee said the project underscores the importance of rural communities in the state’s economic strategy, while local leaders emphasized the long-term impact on workforce development and regional growth. Construction timelines have not yet been disclosed, but the project adds momentum to Tennessee’s ongoing efforts to attract global manufacturers in energy, mobility, and advanced materials sectors.
