Camgian Corporation invests $2.5M in Starkville expansion

Camgian Corporation, a leading software developer specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, is expanding its operations in Starkville, Mississippi, with a $2.5 million investment that will create 15 high-tech jobs. Founded in 2006, Camgian delivers AI solutions for government and commercial clients worldwide. This strategic move solidifies Camgian’s position as a leader in AI innovation and technological advancement.

According to the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), the expansion will enhance Camgian’s infrastructure by upgrading its high-performance computing capacity to support large-scale AI model training and testing. The company will also broaden its software development and testing capabilities to meet increasing market demand for its products and services. Camgian’s annual revenue has seen significant growth, reaching $15.4 million with a 30% year-over-year increase in 2022.  The company employs approximately 96 professionals, reflecting its commitment to innovation and excellence.

This investment reinforces Mississippi’s growing reputation as a hub for AI and machine learning. Governor Tate Reeves highlighted this momentum, stating, “Mississippi is rapidly becoming recognized worldwide as a leader in AI and machine learning. Camgian’s latest investment further strengthens our foothold in this high-tech field.”

The MDA is supporting Camgian through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program, while the City of Starkville and Oktibbeha County are also contributing to the project. MDA Executive Director Bill Cork remarked, “Mississippi is harnessing the technologies of the future. This expansion serves as another reminder to the world that our state is a competitive place to build and grow a high-tech business.”
