She brings more than 14 years of leadership experience, having overseen a period in which the chamber doubled its membership and launched several regional initiatives aimed at strengthening economic competitiveness.

Among those initiatives was B.O.L.D. 2026, a US$3 million regional program focused on workforce development, housing, childcare, and business competitiveness. Welch also helped establish the Arvada Resiliency Taskforce, which has distributed more than US$5 million in support to local businesses.

Her appointment comes as Jeffco EDC continues to expand its regional impact. Since 2020, the organisation says it has supported more than US$5 billion in capital investment and helped create over 10,000 jobs across Jefferson County.

“Kami has spent 14 years building the Greater Arvada Chamber into one of the region’s most trusted and effective business organisations,” said Kelly Dunkin, Chair of the Jeffco EDC Board of Directors and President and CEO of the Colorado Gives Foundation.

“Kami understands the opportunity in front of Jeffco EDC and the work it will take to realise it.”

Welch said she sees opportunities to further align economic development, chamber operations, and leadership development to strengthen the region’s economy.

“When economic development, chamber work and leadership development pull in the same direction, communities feel the difference,” she said.

Jeffco EDC combines the county’s economic development efforts with the West Metro Chamber of Commerce and the West Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, providing a unified approach to business growth, workforce development, and regional leadership.
