The University of Economics – Varna (UE–Varna) has strengthened its international academic presence following a successful participation in the International Staff Week hosted by ALTE University in Tbilisi, Georgia, from April 7 to 11, 2025.
Representing UE–Varna, Prof. Dr. Bistra Vasileva, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Professional Development, and Dr. Slavena Tsoneva, Head of the International Relations Office, engaged with university delegates from across Europe and Asia, including Ukraine, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Iran, and Azerbaijan.

Prof. Vasileva delivered two keynote lectures on frontier topics in business transformation: “Exploring AI-driven Business Transformation” and “Marketing Analytics: Turning Data into Business Growth.” These sessions attracted strong interest from the international student community, underscoring the university’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge insights into its academic offerings.
“Our goal is to share knowledge that resonates globally and build bridges between institutions,” Prof. Vasileva noted during her address.
Beyond academic exchange, the event offered fertile ground for international collaboration. In a rapid follow-up to the visit, UE–Varna signed two cooperation agreements within three days of returning to Bulgaria, reflecting both strategic intent and institutional agility.
The university also participated in the concluding International Education Fair, where its booth drew significant attention from prospective students exploring study opportunities abroad.
“This was not just a promotional event—it was an affirmation of UE–Varna’s role as a forward-looking and globally connected institution,” said Dr. Tsoneva.
The visit marks another milestone in UE–Varna’s mission to build robust international partnerships and foster innovation-driven education in an increasingly interconnected academic landscape.
