The Clovis Economic Development Corporation (CED) has received a US$10,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to support its business incubator program, marking the fourth consecutive year the organization has received funding from the foundation.
The latest grant brings Wells Fargo Foundation’s total investment in CED’s incubator program to US$40,000 over the past four years, reinforcing a long-term commitment to entrepreneurship, small business development and economic opportunity across Clovis and eastern New Mexico.
CED’s business incubator helps startups and early-stage companies build sustainable businesses by providing affordable office space, mentorship, business planning assistance and connections to financing, training and professional networks. The program is designed to help entrepreneurs overcome many of the challenges faced by rural businesses, where access to capital, expertise and support services can be more limited than in larger metropolitan areas.
Executive Director Tina Dziuk said the continued partnership will allow the organisation to expand opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
“Receiving this grant for the fourth consecutive year speaks volumes about the Wells Fargo Foundation’s ongoing commitment to rural economic development and the entrepreneurs who are building businesses and creating opportunities in our community,” Dziuk said. “This sustained investment allows us to continue providing the resources and support that help local businesses succeed.”
Business incubators have become an increasingly important economic development tool, helping communities nurture local companies that can generate jobs, attract investment and diversify regional economies. By supporting entrepreneurs during the early stages of business growth, incubator programs can improve business survival rates while encouraging innovation and long-term economic resilience.
CED said the funding will help continue delivering services that strengthen the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem while creating pathways for business growth and future job creation throughout eastern New Mexico.
