In April 2025, Geotechmin Group, through its Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme, donated a new, eco-friendly waste collection truck to the municipality of Etropole. This initiative aims to enhance the town’s waste management infrastructure and reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable development and community welfare.

The donation was formalized through a framework agreement signed between Geotechmin’s Executive Director, Dominic Hamers, and Etropole’s Mayor, M.Eng. Vladimir Aleksandrov. Mayor Aleksandrov expressed his gratitude, stating, “Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme is unique not only for our region but also for the entire country. As Mayor, I am absolutely delighted to have the honour to sign the new framework agreement with GEOTECHMIN GROUP to work together for the advancement of Etropole Municipality.”
The new waste collection truck, a RENAULT model equipped with a Resor body and Euro 6 engine, offers high environmental compliance and modern safety features for municipal workers. It will serve the needs of the Municipal Enterprise “Improvement and Communal Services – Etropole” (BKS-Etropole), contributing to timely, efficient, and sustainable waste management in the municipality.
This contribution is part of Geotechmin’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility. Since the inception of the Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme in 2018, the group has implemented over 170 projects focusing on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and environmental stewardship across various municipalities. Mr. Hamers highlighted the programme’s impact, noting, “For 5 years since the inception of Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme, we have implemented more than 170 projects… with lasting positive results for the local population.”
The new waste collection truck is expected to significantly improve Etropole’s waste management efficiency, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment for its residents. This initiative underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing local infrastructure needs and enhancing community well-being.
